This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!
Hello Folks!
A lot has happened over the last two weeks!
Congratulations again to the BCHS Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band for their respective showings at Concert Music Performance Assessment!
Also, Congratulations to the BCMS Symphonic Band for their (1221) Overall Excellent! They're performance was great, and I love the energy and heart from those sweet kiddos!
Everyone should be proud!!
Monday, the Marching Band Arrangement Tutorial starts at 3pm. This is for anyone interested in helping to write Stands Tunes for next year's marching band, It is also good instruction for anyone interested in Composition. It is recommended that if you come to this meeting you already have some experience with writing, and that you have a music writing software that is Finale or is capable of exporting Music XML. (Future Music Education Majors would also benefit greatly from this!)
Tuesday, Mrs. Heather Davidson from LaVilla School of the Arts in Jacksonville will be spending the day with us. There is also a Student- led Saxophone Sectional for S/E from 3pm to 5pm.
Wednesday, ain't nothin' goin on. If you want to use this day to practice (sectionals, S/E, etc..) please email me beforehand to schedule.
Thursday, we have band members going to State Jazz MPA and State Solo and Ensemble MPA! Wish them luck! We will be leaving at 7:45am. Please come in your necessary attire. HERE IS THE ITINERARY.
Friday, it's a Planning Day! Enjoy Prom/ your Three Day Weekend!

The book we are reading for Leadership Mondays has CHANGED.

If you are concerned about wait times, be sure to check out purchasing used instead of new. Also, I can make photocopies of the first few chapters available for those waiting for their copy to come in.
DRUM MAJOR CANDIDATES: You can find links to the Score and Music here. Please note that only current Freshmen and Sophomores are being considered for the Second Drum Major role.
