This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!
Hello Folks!
Okay, so we are back. I think these days off were a bit of a blessing in disguise. I don't know about you, but I had a good opportunity to get some much needed rest (despite catching a cold 🤧) and think a little more into what we need so that we can accomplish our goals. Having Creswell out on Tuesday also gave me a renewed sense perspective on what we need to attack.
It is my hope that these days also gave you all a much needed break and that when you come back on Monday, you are ready to go into October (let's just call it Band Month) with a lot of fight. Before the break, I began to notice an overwhelming amount of complacency which I can only chalk up to tiredness. We need to overcome this and fight harder on an individual level if we want to get where we want.
One big change is that (in 2nd and 3rd period) we'll need to shift Mondays Wednesdays and Fridays to Marching Days for a little while. We have new things to tackle in our music that aren't coming together as well as we thought. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be Concert Days. We'll keep this until otherwise noted. Be prepared to rehearse outdoors during class time (not that we will be marching, but we will need to hear things differently.)
Be prepared! Your journey isn't over... it's just beginning! Return with a renewed energy and come ready to fight like you've never fought before!
Senior Wills-- Seniors, each year, a publication of the Senior Wills goes out for students to read on the bus ride to MPA. You should submit your Senior Will using the link on the band app (or the link HERE). You can leave funny or meaningful things to any student or staff member in the band. What you bequeath does not have to be a real item—it can be a joke, or a sort role you played in the band (ie. The math wiz, or the comedian).
