This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!
Hello Folks!
Super excited to go into our first full week!
Some notes--
Students are welcome to stay in the Band Room after school until band events begin. It's an excellent time and place to complete homework, especially with peers!
Please don't forget to bring your water jug and a change of clothes for after school rehearsals if you don't plan to go home. You might also consider bringing additional food.
Starting this Tuesday, After School Rehearsals are GRADED and do count against you if you do not attend. If you need to miss due to a medical reason, you must provide a Doctor's note. Attendance at after school rehearsals will be treated like attendance in school. If the front office would not grant you an excuse, you will not be granted an excuse for band.
Whether or not it is excused, you need to communicate absences to Mr. Moore AND your section leader.
Generally leaving early from rehearsal is also unacceptable unless it is for a bona fide reason, per the band handbook. If you need to leave early, communicate with Mr. Moore via email. Failure to do so can result in docked points or benching from performance.
Band doesn't work well when people are missing, so as discussed at the Big Band Parent Meeting, Students are expected to be present at band events.
We need band parents to volunteer for the band concession stand for this Friday!
Look at the current leaderboard for the Fundraiser!
Thank you for kicking butt! We still have 10 days left, and we're SO close to raising over $10,000! Keep on fighting for it band!

Things to Note 🎵:
AWAY vs. Richmond Hill
Our first away game this year will take place on a SATURDAY instead of a Friday. Please make a special note that SATURDAY, September 10th will be our away game to Georgia. Pending approval from the school district and other necessary parties, we will travel and plan to perform our halftime show there. This game does not take place on campus at Richmond Hill HS, rather, the game will be in Brunswick, GA.
Trailer Needed
We are in search of any band parents who own an enclosed trailer who wouldn't mind helping us take items to away games and competitions on an as needed basis. If this is something you might be interested in, please email me at myles.moore@bakerk12.org.

By the way, I base birthday announcements on what I can see on the Band App, so if you would like to be recognized for your birthday on the weekly announcements, please make sure your Birthday is set to PUBLIC on the Band App.
