This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!
Hello Folks!
We made it! FINALLY things are somewhat starting to slow down!
Congratulations to all for another wonderful Prism Concert! It seems like most everything went well! I'm very proud of how everyone stepped up to make a great performance happen!
Also Congratulations to our Seniors! You are in your finals week, and then.....
At this point now, there's just a bunch of little things. Not everyone is necessarily involved with everything going on, but still just keep up with the calendar to be sure!
We do have Music Ensemble Chair Placements starting this week! We are trying to finish all High Schoolers by Friday! Seniors, congratulations, you are EXEMPT from Chair Placements! For all other, this is a grade.
Monday, Colorguard Auditions are going on, as well as Drum Major Clinics. Both go from 3pm-5pm (Colorguard will go until they are finished)
Tuesday, we have Drum Major Clinics from 3pm to 5pm. I will also start listening to Music Ensemble Chair Placement Auditions this day.
Wednesday, ain't nothing going on except for Chair Placement Auditions.
Thursday, we may be having the Nerd Bowl? I believe there may also be a timing conflict... I'll let you know. From 3pm to 4:30pm, we need all the band students to report to First Baptist Church of Macclenny to help with Banquet Set Up. After that, from 5pm- 8pm we have Thursday Night Live at the High School. Should be fun!
Friday, we have the Jacksonville Symphony: Harry Potter & Order of the Phoenix for those who purchased tickets. Call time is 3:50pm at BCMS. Dinner is at 4:00pm. We depart at 5:15pm. We'll return to Baker County MIDDLE School at approximately 11:00pm.
Saturday, we have the BCHS Music Department Banquet which begins at 5:00pm! It's a party!

The book we are reading for Leadership Mondays has CHANGED.
The book we will be reading is called Habitudes Book #1: The Art of Self-Leadership. WARNING: Please only use the provided link to purchase the book. There are several books that look similar but are different. We are only using the book in the link provided.

Candidates should also note that Clinics are not until near the audition date, so they should work closely with current Drum Majors to get a head start.
