Weekly Update (3/20- 3/24)

This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!

Hello Folks!

Congratulations again to the Baker County Jazz Ensemble for earning an Overall Superior at State Jazz Music Performance Assessment! For the first time in program history, we earned the Jazz Award!

What an accomplishment!

I also wish to congratulate our Soloists and Ensembles. I think everyone did great and showed a lot of growth! Shout out to Gabriel White for earning a Superior rating on a grade 6 solo!

Monday, the Band is getting recognized at the Board Meeting. The Board Meeting is on campus at Baker County HS Cafetorium at 5:00pm. All Units should report to the Cafetorium at 4:30pm wearing their 2022-23 Band Shirt, Jeans, and T- Shirt (unless also being recognized for something else). Jazz Band, we'll start running our set at 4:45pm. Unrelated note: if you would like to turn in funds from the Krispy Kreme fundraiser today because you're doing so well and have too much money to hang on to, you may turn it in and grab another form.

Tuesday, ain't nothin' goin on.

Thursday, we have Wind Ensemble rehearsal from 4pm to 6pm in the Band Room.

The book we are reading for Leadership Mondays has CHANGED.

The book we will be reading is called Habitudes Book #1: The Art of Self-Leadership. WARNING: Please only use the provided link to purchase the book. There are several books that look similar but are different. We are only using the book in the link provided.

If you are concerned about wait times, be sure to check out purchasing used instead of new. Also, I can make photocopies of the first few chapters available for those waiting for their copy to come in.

DRUM MAJOR CANDIDATES: You can find links to the Score and Music here. Please note that only current Freshmen and Sophomores are being considered for the Second Drum Major role. Candidates should also note that Clinics are not until near the audition date, so they should work closely with current Drum Majors to get a head start.
