This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!
Hello Folks!
We have another busy week this week— made BUSIER because weather decided to get in our way… but we will endure!
Stay on top of your personal practice AND your coursework! There’s a lot going on, but you need to manage your time effectively to be able to keep on top of everything. That may require some personal sacrifice here and there. That’s a part of growing up.
You also need to stay on top of your health. Carry hand santizer, shake hands less, and stay out of peoples’ faces. You need to stay well!
Symphonic has AN EXTREMEMLY IMPORTANT rehearsal on Tuesday from 4pm to 6pm. This will be a silent rehearsal, and you’ll see that we’ll be able to play just about our entire concert after that day. Be on time and DO. NOT. MISS.
WE has their last rehearsal on Thursday. That’ll be where everything comes together in a photo finish. We’re almost there!
Weekly Walkthrough
Monday, Winterguard has practice from 3pm to 5pm. There is also Band Booster Meeting starting at 6:30pm.
Tuesday, there is a Symphonic Band Rehearsal from 4pm to 6pm. Afterwards, there is a Winterguard Mandatory Parent Meeting at 6:30pm for those who earned placement on the team.
Wednesday, Mr. Moore will be at BCMS during the school day. After school, Winterguard has practice from 3pm to 5pm.
Thursday, there is a Wind Ensemble Rehearsal from 4pm to 6pm.
Friday, the BCHS Jazz Ensemble travels to NEFSH during the school day. The BCMS Winter Concert is also tonight at 6:30pm
Saturday, we have a ‘Double Header’! In the morning, we have the Breakfast with Santa at Legacy Elementary! Jazz Band and anyone in a Christmas Ensemble is performing (I’ll let you know). We need folks who aren't performing to help staff the event for volunteer hours! Mrs. Luke will come out with a sign up soon! We ALSO have the Lighted Christmas Parade. Please meet behind the restaurant called "The Coop" at 4pm where you will don your full marching uniform (jackets). Make a stop at walmart or dollar general sometime this week and purchase some cheap battery powered led lights to put on you or your instrument! Section Coordination is even better! (PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY KIND OF TAPE ON YOUR INSTRUMENT-- YOU'LL RIP THE LACQUER OFF). It may be cold, so please prepare accordingly! Also, instead of shakos, be prepared to wear a Christmas hat (we have some you can borrow if you don't have one!)
Sunday, Jazz Band has an added performance at Harvest Ministries. Times TBA we’ll discuss on Monday. Students will meet AT Harvest Ministries Baker Campus, 7445 FL-121, Macclenny, FL 32063.

Here’s the Sign Up for the Christmas Party on Friday, December 19th @12:00PM! Keep in mind, it is a Potluck style event.
Remember to bring a present WORTH NO MORE THAN $30 AND NO LESS THAN $25 to participate in the White Elephant Gift Exchange!

Concert Band Camp
Concert Band Camp will be on February 7th from 10am to 3pm. This is for both ensembles, so please plan accordingly to be there. More details will become available as we get closer!

Birthday Announcements!
By the way, I base birthday announcements on what I can see on the Band App, so if you would like to be recognized for your birthday on the weekly announcements, please make sure your Birthday is set to PUBLIC on the Band App. To do this: Go to our Band App> Settings (Cog on Bottom Right)> Set Profile> Show My Birthday> Anyone)
According to Band App, over the break we had three birthdays and this week we have one birthday!
