Weekly Update (10/31- 11/4)

This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!

Hello Folks!

I'm very proud of your most recent achievement of Straight Superiors at Marching MPA this past weekend! This is an even more impressive achievement when you consider everything else you all did leading up to Saturday! You were very resilient! Keep up the good work and you'll go very far, Wildcats!

I recommend everyone take some time to review the judge tapes from MPA. You will find a lot of good commentary there!

We have started up our Fall Fundraiser with Cherrydale! Here are our current stats!

We need every band student to register at www.shopfund.com! Then sell, sell, sell! This fundraiser will help us stay afloat through MPA Assessment Fees and other important expenses (like sheet music) as we enter Concert Season! There are also a lot of cool incentive prizes! If you send out your link, you earn chances to win prizes just for getting to click your link! So share your link on social media! Get those clicks!

Also, remind people that they want to support YOU and they want to support the BAND! Develop your salesman skills!

It's Time to Start Planning for Busch Gardens/ Tampa!

This Year, the band's end of year trip will be a 3 or 4 day (waiting to hear back from Admin 😔) trip to Tampa, Florida from Thursday, April 13th to Sunday, April 16th to explore different sights including visiting Busch Gardens! Attendees need to submit their Deposit as soon as possible so we can begin planning for the trip!

Things to Note 🎵:

Concert Attire

This is everyone’s reminder to take care of their concert attire:

Concert Attire- Wind Ensemble

Men- In addition to your tux shirt and pants (you can purchase any Tuxedo shirt and tuxedo pants) , you need to purchase this vest as a part of your concert attire.

Ladies- if you haven’t already, you need to purchase your Corelli Dress from Southeastern Apparel. Do this soon so that in case there are any errors you can exchange your dress for the right size. At this time, the band is not planning to do a group order. If you need help with sizing (first ask your parent) you can ask a Drum Major and they should be able to help you. You can also ask veterans and alumni to see if they have outgrown their dress and if you might be able to purchase it from them.

Concert Attire- Symphonic Band

For Concert Performances, students must arrive dressed in:

• Black Long Sleeve Button Down Dress Shirt

• Black Tuxedo Pants (Slacks)

• Black Dress Socks

• Black Dress Shoes (Marching Shoes are acceptable)

If anyone has difficulty acquiring any of these items, please reach out to Mr. Moore immediately.
