This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!
Hello Folks!
Go Jags!
It's Homecoming Week! Please enjoy all the festivities, but also be sure to read the info below carefully as it pertains to this week. You'll need to follow the directions for this week carefully. Uniforms will be getting Dry Cleaned after this week.
This week, we have a HOME game vs Halifax HS (Homecoming)! We will NOT be performing our halftime show at the football game because we are performing it at Cat Growl. We'll be wearing "Pep Uniform" at the Parades and Cat Growl, which is your Band Shirt, Gym Shorts, Long Black Socks, Band Shoes, Bibbers, and Band Ball Cap. We'll wear full uniform at the Football Game.
Weekly Walkthrough
Monday, there are no events scheduled.
Tuesday, the Woodwind Sectional from 2:45pm to 3:30pm has been converted to a Full Band Sectional. We also have an After School Rehearsal from 4pm to 7pm.
Wednesday, there are no events scheduled.
Thursday, we have two parades—the NEFSH Parade and the Homecoming Parade. One will be during the school day, and the other is after school.
NEFSH Parade-- I will have you called to the band room (around 9am or so) for the NEFSH Parade. We will don our Uniforms and then bus over to the Florida State Hospital to perform. (We will parade in pep uniforms and we should have our ball caps). We will perform then head back to the high school. Please come to school dressed as closely to your under uniform (Band Shirt, Gym Shorts, Black Socks, Band Shoes) as possible. I understand we may not wish to wear band shorts and shoes to school, which is fine, but you need to be able to change QUICKLY into them. These events get too hot to be wearing anything else under your uniform.
Homecoming Parade-- After School, your call time for the parade will be 4:00pm behind the old courthouse which you can find near the corner of E Shuey Ave and S Second Street, (NOT AT THE BAND ROOM). (You will need to arrange your own transportation here as there is no bus for the homecoming parade.)
Uniforms will be donned here, and then we will warm up and march the parade. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT STUDENTS DRINK PLENTY OF WATER AND HYDRATE BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE PARADE. WATER IS NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL WE ARRIVE AT THE FOOTBALL STADIUM (Mrs. Luke, would you be able to make sure the concession stand is open when we arrive?). Once we arrive at the football stadium, we will perform our halftime show at Cat Growl. After we have performed and everyone has helped make sure our trailer is loaded with our equipment, we are good to go (No need to ask when you may leave).
Friday, there is a Percussion Sectional from 2:45pm to 3:45pm. We also have HOME vs. Halifax HS. 4:00pm Call Time. Please meet at the band room wearing a Band Shirt, Gym Shorts, Long Black Socks, Band Shoes, and Band Ball Cap (if we have them). We will wear our jackets here. We will not perform our halftime show.
Saturday, students and band members are getting together at 2:00pm behind the band room to paint and decorate our ship so we can finally have beautiful props for senior night and competition. Please get with Jacob Ballinger and let him know if you're joining! We want students to help us finish the job!
