Weekly Update (10/5- 10/11)

This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!

Hello Folks!

It's Competition Season!

In the name of transparency, things are about to get busy. As I've warned a few weeks ago, students need to work toward getting ahead in their coursework and other home obligations so that they can avoid being overwhelmed. We are in the last four weeks or so of marching band, so as expectations continue to rise on one end, academic expectations are rising as well. Don't get caught in the wave, surf it instead!

This Friday, we celebrate our Seniors both for senior night and our traditions for MPA day on Saturday. Please take some time to reflect on the contributions this Senior Class has made for the band program over the years and especially for this Marching Season. We couldn't be here without them. Line up for the event is 6:00pm, and it begins at 6:15pm. Traditionally/ Historically, we get there in time for Seniors to go do their thing, so there shouldn’t be any concerns about us arriving on time. Seniors should wear their full uniform (including Jacket, no Shako) for Senior Night.

This week, we have a HOME game vs Suwannee HS (Senior Night)! We will be performing our full halftime show at the football game. We'll be wearing full uniform, but we will also aim to carry our pirate outfits as well.

Weekly Walkthrough

Monday, there are no events scheduled.

Tuesday, there is a Woodwind Sectional from 2:45pm to 3:30pm. We also have an After School Rehearsal from 4pm to 7pm.

Wednesday, there are no events scheduled.

Thursday, we have an After School Rehearsal from 4pm to 7pm.

Friday, there is a Percussion Sectional from 2:45pm to 3:45pm. We also have HOME vs. Suwannee HS. 4:00pm Call Time. Please meet at the band room wearing a Band Shirt, Gym Shorts, Long Black Socks, Band Shoes, and Band Ball Cap. Please also bring your pirate attire.

Saturday is a SHOW DAY! We will go to Fleming Island HS. Please check the itinerary for details.

Things to Note 🎵:

North Florida Honor Band

Materials for North Florida Honor Band are now available and can be found HERE!

• Members of the Wind Ensemble are required to audition.

• Symphonic Band members and Percussionists are also encouraged to audition but are not required to do so.

• NFHB Recording Day is on November 18th. Recordings will not be redone (due to time). Mr. Moore reserves the right to not send off a recording that shows lack of adequate preparation.
