Weekly Update (1/31- 2/5)

This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!

Hello Folks!

Again, plenty of things going on this week! Please make sure you are reading these updates and staying with it!

We do have a concert this week! The Solo and Ensemble/ Jazz MPA Concert is this Friday. It is a relatively small concert, and only seating for half of the cafeteria will be utilized. If parents or other family members intend to attend, they should rsvp at bakercountybands.com/events.

If it helps, Soloists and Ensembles may stay after school this week for as long as I am on Campus for various rehearsals to work on their Solo and Ensemble music. I also recommend reaching out to RJ to see if there is time to run your music with accompanist.

The very next day (Saturday) is Wind Ensemble's trip to University of North Florida.

Music Ensemble Auditions

Music Ensemble Auditions which will determine placement in Wind Ensemble for the 2022-23 School Year will begin March 28th. The number of musicians in Wind Ensemble will stay about the same and most students entering the band next year will be placed in Symphonic Band as a result. This is good news for both ensembles! Wind Ensemble will be very competitive, and Symphonic Band will increase dramatically in size! Requirements for this audition will come out in February, but students can prepare by working on the following Scales in 2 octaves All State Pattern: G, C, F Bb, Eb, Ab, Db.
