Weekly Update (9/22- 9/26)

This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!

Hello Folks!

As I type this, I'm hoping the Jags will pull out a win against the Texans, but we'll see...

Please give a huge congratulations to our All State Audition Students for their audition on Saturday! Preparing an audition requires a lot of hard work and determination, and I'm so proud of their effort! That's Jacob Ballinger, Kyle Binion, David Bryan III, Jacob Luke, and Alexis Williams. Great work!

This week, we have a HOME game vs Godby HS! We will be performing our halftime show through Movement 3 this week. We'll be wearing "Pep Uniform" which is your Band Shirt, Gym Shorts, Long Black Socks, Band Shoes, Bibbers, and Band Ball Cap. All freshmen will get a Ball Cap for free, but any veterans who need a new one will need to pay $20 for a replacement. Winds wear their band cap forward, people playing percussion in the stands wear their ball cap backwards.

This game is also ROOKIE NIGHT. Please be mindful of your behavior around the rookies. You need to be mature, but also friendly and supportive. This day will be about supporting the rookies and encouraging them to join HS Band. Behavior that works against this cause will be penalized heavily.

Weekly Walkthrough

Monday, we have the Band EOY Trip Meeting at 7pm in the High School Band Room. Everyone should come check it out! Our Band Trip is one of the hallmark experiences of being in band, and there are payment plans available for those worried about cost.

Tuesday, there is a Woodwind Sectional from 2:45pm to 3:30pm. We also have an After School Rehearsal from 4pm to 7pm.

Wednesday, there are no events scheduled.

Thursday, we have After School Rehearsal from 4pm to 7pm.

Friday, there is a Percussion Sectional from 2:45pm to 3:45pm. We also have HOME vs. Godby HS. 4:00pm Call Time. Please meet at the band room wearing a Band Shirt, Gym Shorts, Long Black Socks, Band Shoes, and Band Ball Cap (if we have them).
