This is your weekly MUSIC DEPARTMENT update!
Hello Folks!
This Tuesday, May 4th is the 2021 Band Parent Meeting. Please Note that this is the annual parent meeting to set the expectations for next year’s band. We also will be discussing important dates, band camp, pre-registration, and marching season. Parents and Students need to plan to attend.
We are in the heat of Leadership Interviews, which mean there are a lot of great candidates going for positions in which only one person may serve the role. To that, I’d like to take this opportunity to say up front that I am so happy and honored to teach each of you in band. Deciding Leadership roles is the very hardest aspect of my job because so many of you have so much to bring to the table, but at the end of the day we will have to make tough decisions that may result in some of you not earning the role you desire. I’d like to remind each of you that if you do not earn a position of leadership this year, that you should continue to work to prove our decision wrong and be the best possible musician and leader you can. I’d also like to remind each of you that we do care about you very much. Don’t let a negative decision sway you from the truth.
