UF Band Day Itinerary

Saturday, August 30th, 2025

UF Band Day is a fun event where members of our band get to go to a University of Florida Football Game, play their instrument in the stands (not drums and tubas 😢) (read below), and PLAY ON THE FIELD DURING HALFTIME! It's truly an amazing experience!

ATTIRE: T-Shirt (provided at check-in), Khaki Shorts, Tennis Shoes (Closed Toe)

I'm sure percussionists and tuba players noticed my message above. UF Bands had this to say:

We are so sorry that those students  (DRUMS and TUBAS ) won’t be able to have room for their instruments in the stands, however, we will be seating all the drummers together (yikes!) in the front of the section next to the Gator Band, and Tubas will sit in the rows immediately behind the Gator Band Tubas so they can have the TUBA EXPERIENCE! 

More Information:

• All Chaperones and any parents who want to come will be able to buy discounted tickets through the special link HERE. To have enough free tickets for the students, ALL parents and chaperones will need to purchase tickets to attend the game.  There are numerous price points for the tickets: parents can select to sit near the band, as far away from the band as possible (LOL!) or in any open seat in the stadium for a discount rate. DEADLINE IS AUGUST 14!!

• Please visit this link to access the music.  Within each Folder are parts plus videos for Colorguard and Majorettes being added. Feel free to forward the videos to your auxiliary staff/students so they can have individualized learning tools.

• In order to accommodate everyone, we will be providing a truck for all DRUMS, TUBAS and FLAGS to put their instruments in at the conclusion of the morning rehearsal. 

• FLAGS – please bring your own poms if possible!

SCHEDULE

2025 BAND DAY GAME  - SATURDAY, AUGUST 30, 2025

• 6:00AM Call Time at BCHS

• 6:15AM Bus Leaves

• 8:00AM DIRECTOR CHECK-IN: ALUMNI BAND PAVILION  (1273 Gale Lemerand Dr., Gainesville, FL 32611 )

  *GET OFFICIAL SHIRTS FOR STUDENTS

• 8:30AM FULL BAND REHEARSAL – GATOR BAND FIELD – Directors will receive a chart with band assignments on field 

• 9:45AM Bands Dismissed – Meet and greet on field / pictures, etc.

  • Visit Campus/Gainesville (Oaks Mall, Celebration Point, etc.)                             

• Lunch @ Oaks Mall (BRING $$$)

• 4:30PM ALL Busses and Equipment Trucks parked on Stadium Extension (map will be sent after bus #’s confirmed)

• ALL CASES STAY ON BUSSES, TRAILERS OR IN CARS

• STUDENTS IN OFFICIAL HS BAND DAY SHIRTS, Khaki Shorts; Tennis shoes

• 5:00PM Bands Meet Gator Band Staff at BUS PARKING for escort to entrance gate and seating AS A GROUP

• HIGH SCHOOL BANDS ENTER STADIUM THROUGH GATE 9 

• Chaperones/Parents Enter through regular admissions gates starting at 5:30PM

• Gator Band Staff Oversees HS Band Assigned Seating

• 6:30PM EVERYONE IN SEATS FOR PRE-GAME 

• 7:00 pm FL vs. LIU Kickoff

• START OF SECOND QUARTER – DRUM, TUBAS AND FLAGS FOLLOW GATOR BAND STAFF TO TRUCK 

  • These students will enter for halftime via SEZ Tunnel

• HALFTIME – PERFORM ON FIELD IN MASSED BAND

• HS BANDS – EXIT TO EAST SIDELINE AND THROUGH SEZ TUNNEL Drums, Tubas, Flags back on truck. (Fruit & Gatorade provided)

  • TRUCK will move to bus parking area during third quarter for students to retrieve instruments post-game

• POST GAME - DISMISS AS A GROUP to RETURN TO BUS PARKING AREA (w/ESCORTS)

  • ALL DRUMS, TUBAS and FLAGS will need to go to truck to retrieve instruments before leaving campus!
