We are excited to announce that Band Captain and Senior Drum Major Makenna Payne has been selected to represent Baker County High School at the 41st Annual FSU Tri- State Band Festival in Tallahassee, FL!
This ensemble is a selective nomination ensemble that accepts band students from Florida, Georgia, and Alabama. This year, the nomination panel received over 450 nominations for over 250 festival spots.
Makenna currently is a Senior who serves as one of the Band Captains and one of the Senior Drum Majors in the Wildcat Pride Marching Band, as well as a trumpet player in the Baker County Jazz Ensemble and a trombone player in the Baker County High School Symphonic Band. She has served as a Drum Major since the year 2020. Makenna has taken a strong interest in Leadership and Conducting, which has only furthered her love and interest in music. Makenna's leadership has been instrumental to the band's success over the years.
