It is my sincere pleasure to inform you that we have had a Baker County HS Band student make the Florida All State Honors Ensemble this year!!
This is an incredible opportunity for students as they will be exposed to some wonderful literature and they will meet other amazing musicians from across the state of Florida!
To earn a spot in this ensemble, they were nominated by their director and had to demonstrate a high level of proficiency on their instrument including the ability to play all twelve major scales, the ability to play with amazing tone and range, and they also had to have noteworthy participation in band including Solo and Ensemble, Local Honor Bands, and outstanding merit.
Jacob is a senior and the Band Captain of the Wildcat Pride Marching Band. A talented multi-instrumentalist, he plays Trombone in the Baker County Jazz Ensemble, Flute in the Baker County Symphonic Band, and serves as Principal Trombonist in the Baker County Wind Ensemble. Jacobs’s leadership has been instrumental to the band’s success, and he was recently honored with acceptance to perform at the FSU Tri-State festival.
One proud band director here! And this is just another reason why it’s BETTER IN BAKER!
